My latest piece for McSweeney's The Goods. I was given a day to come up with the concept and execute, luckily the editors weren't picky.

Queer

Every now and then a project comes along that is an honor to be apart of. So much so that you'd probably work on it for free if they hadn't already offered to pay. Queer, a guide for LGBT teens, was that sort of assignment for me. Last year there were so many tragic stories of LGBT teens being bullied & harassed to the point of suicide. It's deeply saddening, but as an amazing group of compassionate people suggested "It Gets Better". My hope is that this book will help show LGBT teens that it does get better and remind them that they're not alone, and that they matter, and that they are beautiful just as they are! Dino Cut-Outs

Here is another piece I worked on for Mc Sweeney's The Goods. Dinosaurs are of course the coolest thing ever, so it was a joy to make these little cut-outs! I hope these characters are making some kids day a little brighter.

The Goods

This is a piece I contributed to McSweeney's "The Goods" which is this really cool page in Newspapers ( SF Chronicle & Chicago Tribune) dedicated to giving kids some awesome puzzles, games, comics and what have you. If your local paper isn't getting The Goods, write to them and ask for it!

These are a few pieces of concept art I made the other day. Unfortunately the project they were intended for didn't come thru, But what can you do? Try your best and if you don't get what you're aiming for at least you've gained experience!  

Alphabets & Travelers

I've been away, but now I'm back! Working on this and that moving here and there trying to embrace change. I think that sums it up, still no great excuse for neglecting my blog. I don't forget to water my plants, I'll try harder not forgetting to nourish my blog.

My Gaga ( great grand mother ) turned 100 this month. How amazing is that! It's just unfathomable. So to help me grasp what it could mean to reach 100, I created this timeline with a few major historic events that Gaga lived through. Bertha Vaughn Brown was born Dec 24, 1910 in Greensboro Kentucky. She has lived during the times of: The sinking of the Titanic, End of WW1, Womens Liberation Movement, Stock Exchange Crash & the Great Depression.
She was around when a dozen eggs cost 12 cents, the start of WW2, the day Nuclear weaponry was dropped on Hiroshima & Nagasaki. She was there during the Civil Rights Movement, 1st man on the moon, the end of the Vietnam War, Here During 9/11 and around to see America elect it's 1st African American President.
