HOME

Oh, hi again :O) This is a piece I made for an art auction that's goal is to raise money to build homes for children in Ghana. The theme I was encouraged to work in was HOME. I have to admit I spent a lot of time thinking about the meaning of home. I think home is something we carry with us, it isn't any place necessarily. I find home in people and relationships, it's also like a feeling of peace and belonging.

Ok, so I decided to create this scene of me as a child and my grandmother riding a bus. I grew up in Los Angeles where my older brother and I were raised by our Grandmother. Nana ( my grandma ) didn't drive, I remember spending a lot of time on the bus growing up. i don't find comfort in riding a bus, but in this case being with my grandmother who was and has always been there for me. Thank you Nana.

Sound words Christian, I love your piece and the people you decided to put on the bus! I especially love the tattooed man... I've definitely seen him in LA. And your Nana seems like an absolutely wonderful person!
